Flownamics® Analytical Instruments has developed a sampling probe capable of
withdrawing sterile, cell-free samples from fermentors and bioreactors. The
FISP® probes not only allow off-line sampling, but also direct on-line sample
transfer to biochemical or other types of analyzers. The FISP® sampling probe is
a small tube-shaped sterilizable 316 stainless steel carrier surrounded by a
tubular micro-porous membrane. The probes are available for 12, 19 and 25 mm
ports, for laboratory, pilot or industrial scale vessels.
FEATURES OF THE FISP®
- Sterile, cell-free sampling for off-line and on-line analysis
- FISP® Probes can be autoclaved or sterilized in-place
- Used for aerobic or anaerobic bacterial cultures, as well as yeast, fungi,
algae, insect, animal and mammalian cell cultures
- Risk free sampling due to elimination of bypass filters, which circulates
material back into vessel
- Accommodates small laboratory vessels up to large full-scale production
vessels with 12, 19 and 25 mm models
- Easy to use and maintain; no operator training required
- Interfaces the fermentor or bioreactor with a variety of analytical systems
- Biochemistry Analyzers
- Fraction collectors, Autosamplers
- Methanol analyzers
- Flow Injection Analysis (FIA)
- HPLC
- Biosensors
- Ion Chromatography
- Mass spec systems
- Design minimizes dead volume, which allows for consistent and accurate
sampling, and reduces probe flush time
- Durable in design and construction to withstand the temperatures, pressures,
viscosities, shear forces and chemicals typical of fermentation environments
